# Limits and fair use

> Every limit of the service in one place: guest and signed in limits for pages, favorites, tabs, alerts, sharing, trading, requests, directory lookups, email codes, passkeys and the Telegram bot.

Limits keep the service fast for everyone. Each limit is explained where you meet it, this page collects them.

## By role

When a tab limit is hit the page says **Too many open tabs.** or **Too many connections from your network.** Close another tab or device and reconnect.

## Alerts

Past a limit the site says **Too many requests. Wait a moment and try again.**

## Fair use

The directory, the bot and the pages are meant for a person reading one asset at a time. Bulk downloading of assets, markets or networks is not what the limits above are sized for and is stopped by them. If you need data in bulk, ask in the Telegram channel linked under **Help**.
