# Reading a row

> What every cell of a scanner row means: the pair and its two legs, kind, net and gross spread, APR, funding, break-even, volume, quote age and spread age.

![Scanner rows: asset logo and ticker, long leg and short leg badges, kind, spread, APR, funding for both legs, age and since](https://mintcdn.com/develops-6bdfff15/0-2fZCEZBOlAqgr4/images/scanner/rows-en-dark.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=0-2fZCEZBOlAqgr4\&q=85\&s=31d17ae7faab3beb7d7e3a9aee2e66b4)

Rows with the default columns.

## The pair cell

* **Asset**: logo and ticker. A question mark means no logo is known yet.
* **L** is the long leg: the market where you buy. **S** is the short leg: the market where you sell or short.
* Each leg shows the exchange code and the market type: `spot`, `perp` or `margin`.
* A multiplier badge such as `1000×` means the contract on that leg is for 1 000 units of the asset. Prices are already brought to one unit before the spread is calculated.
* `delisting` on a leg means the exchange is removing that market. `no pool` on a margin leg means nothing is left to borrow.

## Kind

The kind names the two legs.

| Kind | Long leg | Short leg | Income |
| - | - | - | - |
| `perp-perp` | perpetual | perpetual | price spread and funding difference |
| `spot-perp` | spot | perpetual | price spread and short leg funding |
| `spot-spot` | spot | spot | price spread only, you move the asset between exchanges yourself |
| `spot-margin` | spot | borrowed on margin and sold on spot | price spread minus the borrow rate |
| `perp-margin` | perpetual | borrowed on margin and sold on spot | long leg funding minus the borrow rate |

## Columns

All percentages are relative to the average price of the two legs, so a spread reads the same in both directions.

| Column | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Spread** | Net entry spread: sell price on the short leg against buy price on the long leg, after taker fees on both legs. Positive means the short leg is more expensive than the long leg. This is the default sort. |
| **Out net** | Net exit spread right now: what you would get closing both legs at the current prices, after fees. Usually negative. Entry plus exit is the price result of a full round trip. |
| **In gross**, **Out gross** | The same two spreads before fees. |
| **APR** | Yearly funding income as a simple percent: short leg funding minus long leg funding, extrapolated from the current rates. For margin kinds the borrow rate takes the place of short leg funding and is always negative for you. |
| **Funding · long**, **Funding · short** | Current funding rate of the leg, the funding interval and a countdown to the next payment. Empty for spot. |
| **Break-even** | Hours of funding at the current rate needed to pay back the fees and the entry and exit spreads. Shorter is better. |
| **Vol 24h** | 24 hour volume in USD of the smaller leg. |
| **OI** | Open interest in USD of the smaller perpetual leg. |
| **Mcap**, **FDV** | Market cap and fully diluted valuation of the asset. |
| **Age** | Age of the older quote of the two legs. A green dot means both quotes are fresh. |
| **Since** | How long the net spread has stayed at or above the threshold shown in the header, `≥ 0 %` by default. Change the threshold with the **Spread age** filter. |

Fees are the base taker fees of each exchange for that market type, with the exceptions exchanges publish for special zones. Deposits, withdrawals and transfers are not counted.

### Choosing columns

![Columns and rows panel with Compact and Comfortable row height and checkboxes for every column](https://mintcdn.com/develops-6bdfff15/0-2fZCEZBOlAqgr4/images/scanner/columns-en-dark.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=0-2fZCEZBOlAqgr4\&q=85\&s=374133adb01fd6d4f46576642a27e047)

The Columns panel. The choice is saved with the page.

Click **Columns** in the toolbar. Tick the columns you want, pick **Compact** (28 px rows) or **Comfortable** (32 px), then **Done**. **Reset** returns the default set: Pair, Kind, Spread, APR, Funding · long, Funding · short, Age, Since. Click a column header to sort by it, click again to flip the direction.
