> ## Agent Instructions
> Spreader is a web service that tracks arbitrage spreads between crypto exchanges. This documentation covers only what a user of the service sees and does.
> Page paths starting with /en/ are English. Translations live under /ru/ and /uk/ with the same file names.
> Screenshots are illustrations. Every screenshot is accompanied by text that states the same facts, so you do not need to see the image.

# Getting started

> Open Spreader as a guest, learn the layout, pick a language and theme, and sign up when you need saved pages, alerts or trading.

Spreader opens without registration. The first visit creates a guest session in your browser, and the scanner starts streaming right away. Sign up when you want more saved pages, favorites, alerts or trading.

## First visit as a guest

The scanner as a guest sees it. Sections with a lock need an account.

A guest gets the full live scanner with filters, views and columns. The limits below apply until you sign up.

| What | Guest | Signed in |
| - | - | - |
| Scanner pages | 2 | 10 |
| Favorites and hidden pairs | 50 | 5 000 |
| Open tabs or devices at once | 3 | 8 |
| Alert rules | none | 10 |
| Trading from the spread page | no | yes |

When the service is under heavy load, guests are slowed to one update per second first. Signed in users keep full speed.

## Sign up or log in

![Sign up form with Username and Password fields and a Sign up button](https://mintcdn.com/develops-6bdfff15/0-2fZCEZBOlAqgr4/images/start/signup-en-dark.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=0-2fZCEZBOlAqgr4\&q=85\&s=ac683ad390541206170d43fd9e88381b)

The sign up form. The Log in form asks for the same two fields.

1. Click the **log in** icon at the right end of the header.
2. On the login page choose **Sign up** under the form.
3. Enter a username (2 to 40 characters: a to z, digits, dot, dash, underscore) and a password of at least 8 characters.
4. Click **Sign up**. You are signed in immediately.

Your guest pages are not carried over. Save the filters you care about again on the new account.

## The layout

![Spreader header with search box, live indicator, language flag, theme toggle and account menu](https://mintcdn.com/develops-6bdfff15/0-2fZCEZBOlAqgr4/images/start/header-en-dark.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=0-2fZCEZBOlAqgr4\&q=85\&s=d64f3615d96d4202d43d9c8c6e95c6e9)

Header: sidebar toggle, breadcrumb, search, connection state, language, theme, account.

* **Sidebar** on the left lists your scanner pages, Tools and Settings. The first header button hides or shows it.
* **Search** (`Ctrl K` or `Cmd K`) finds an asset, an exchange, a pair or one of your pages. Paste a contract address to search by contract.
* **Connection state** shows `live` with the current delay, `reconnecting` when the stream is interrupted and `no fresh quotes` when exchanges stop answering.
* **Language** switches the interface between English, Russian and Ukrainian.
* **Theme** toggles dark and light mode. Both are remembered in the browser.
* **Account** menu shows your username and **Log out**. A guest sees a **log in** icon instead.

The sidebar: scanner pages, Tools and Settings.

## Where to go next

* [Scanner](https://docs.spreader.sh/en/scanner/overview.md) is the main screen. Every row is a spread between two markets of the same asset.
* Click a row to open its spread page with both legs, history and trading.
* Set up alerts to be told when a spread crosses your threshold.
